You have to roll the window down and reach outside and use the exterior handle. On occasion the inside will work. The A/C compressor does not automatically turn on when you select defrost. There is adjustments to the unload valve and you have to adjust the charge pressure. The question you have to ask your self is, do I want power or do I want speed? Unfortunately, you can't have both.
